SCELC Resource Sharing Toolkit

Introduction to basics of SCELC ILL programs and supporting software

Profile Groups

SCELC has two active OCLC Profile Groups that can be enabled by participants in these programs.

SCLC (SCELC Reciprocal Interlibrary Loan) (RILL)

SSPG (SCELC Shared Print)

The Shared Print Retention Flag is not yet showing in OCLC Resource Sharing systems, but is on the potential development calendar for 2023-24.

Libraries Recently Added to a Profile Group

Newly added libraries should update their supplier status in the OCLC Policies Directory,

and set their supplier status to Yes.

This will also allow others in the group to lend to you.

Here is the OCLC help page on this topic
https://help.oclc.org/Resource_Sharing/WorldShare_Interlibrary_Loan/Troubleshooting/How_do_I_update_my_Supplier_status_for_ILL_in_the_OCLC_Policies_Directory

Also, the Policies Directory can be used to deflect requests from your non-circulating material.

This document covers what the Policies Directory impacts.

https://help.oclc.org/Librarian_Toolbox/Troubleshooting/Which_parts_of_the_Policies_Directory_have_actual_system_impact

And this final document is a users guide.

SCELC Custom Holdings Group for Reciprocal ILL

SCELC now has an OCLC Profile Group for Reciprocal ILL Participants (symbol is SCLC),

which is a preferred solution to implementing load balancing among participants,

but this information for creating an OCLC Custom Holdings Group is included here

because many libraries may already have created the Custom Holdings Group and wish to keep it up to date.
