SCELC is pleased to provide Callimachus, the Digital Collections of SCELC, to our Member libraries. As a service of SCELC, Callimachus provides consortial access to CONTENTdm from OCLC.
To get started using CONTENTdm for adding collections to Callimachus:
You will receive further instructions with steps for creating an account with the CONTENTdm User Support Center and for downloading the appropriate software from OCLC after you have signed up with SCELC.
SCELC can provide basic setup support for initializing or configuring CONTENTdm. For further information and tutorials visit the CONTENTdm support page, or visit the OCLC Community Center.
We encourage many different thematic collections for Callimachus. Institutions are also encouraged to collaborate on collections, especially in cases where a single institution does not have enough items to fulfill the required number for a collection. The SCELC mailing lists may be used to initiate collaborations.
The Callimachus Collection Policy was developed by the SCELC Digital Initiatives Working Group (DIWG). Additionally, various resources have been created and gathered by DIWG to inform decisions on metadata and scanning. Contact us with more documentation ideas or additional resources.
