Leveraging the power of collaboration to expand access

The SCELC Collaborative Collections Program creates opportunities for participating libraries to collectively select, purchase, and share access to collections of ebooks or other electronic resources, whether the collections are owned in common or owned by individual libraries. Program participants work together to use a data-driven and transparent decision-making process that asks libraries to consider and balance the needs of other libraries with those of their own institutions, thereby developing trust and the relationships necessary for future shared collection building.
