SCELC Collaborative Collections Program

The SCELC Collaborative Collection Sub-Committee is seeking volunteers from participating institutions to join as a committee member for a maximum three-year term. Committee members may be assigned to one of three teams, focusing on communications with participating institutions, selection/development of the collection itself, or assessment of the program. The current term extends through June 2022, which is the end of the three-year JSTOR collaborative collection. The time commitment is modest, with monthly or bi-monthly virtual meetings as needed to complete committee tasks.

Collaborative Collections is a new area for SCELC and innovative in the consortial landscape. The committee hopes that presentation and publication opportunities may arise from this work. We also believe that the current JSTOR EBA collection provides significant value for participants in a challenging budgetary environment and look forward to exploring other collaborative collection development opportunities for SCELC members.

Please contact Glenn Johnson-Grau if you are interested in joining the sub-committee or if there are any other questions we can answer.
